So yes, we are still at it, posting photos that should have been posted a LONG time ago!  Better late than never is still the theme here  Here are a few photos from Emma’s First Christmas photo shoot!  As you can see, she had fun on this shoot!  We timed things a bit better and we did not place her in anything freezing cold or wet which I’m sure was a great start.  Anyhow, the first few photos of Emma were of her “styled shoot” which was a theme Jonathan and I did together.  Isn’t she the cutest in her pink Christmas!

 

Then these next few photos of her in red were my theme.  I just love her My First Christmas outfit with her Santa shoes that Maddie gave her and her striped hat that I bought her.  She had a blast doing this photo shoot as you can see!

Then this last set of photos was Jonathan’s theme.  Her “Decked Out” outfit is Jon’s favorite and he set her up in the greenery.  Now, I must admit we almost ran back into the pumpkin problem here with how pokey the greenery was but she pulled through to get these.

Merry Late Christmas from the Fosters!

Ok, so I think this post has been my favorite to compose.  This is a compilation of the randomness of our weddings from 2011.  This is also a good glimpse into why we LOVE our job!  So as I always say, this was so hard to limit the number of photos to post.  Summing up 1 year in 1 blog post is seriously nearly impossible for me.  Too many great weddings! So here are a few of the crazy, insane, hilarious, emotional, adorable and entertaining moments from our wonderful weddings of 2011!

Crazy Reception Dancing- crazy dance moves that shock even the bride

Best Wedding Parties- Jonathan’s fedora on more than one occasion has become a prop for dancing. Here it is making its rounds to Michael Jackson.

Adorable Ring Bearers- this little guy was walking around watching Jonathan take pictures. He was suppose to be getting dressed, as you can see.

Sports Wedding- you never know when a game of baseball is going to break out at a wedding reception

Unity Candle Alternative- who needs candles or sand when you could have a volcano!

Creative Reception Exits- start a silly string war, even the bride came out prepared

Fabulous Dance Moves- can be busted by just about anyone, including the groom

Beautiful Moments- when Robin of Di Fiori delivered the bouquet to the bride, she started to cry stunned at how beautiful it was

Dance Your Heart Out- and that is just what this guy did

Family Fun- we LOVE to see our families having fun & these 3 know how to have a blast! HUGE shout out to the Kiel Crew!

A Family in Love- Kissing Cousins…say what!  We have taken a photo together at each wedding & this is the grand finale! The last cousin is now married!  Yep that is Jonathan & I on the far left.

Serenade- and that is just what these guys did, it was probably the best worst sang song to date

Sneak Photo- when you are the photographer & family this is how you get into family photos.  Yes that is Jonathan taking a photo of my sister and I getting ready for my cousin Madison’s country chic wedding.

Celebrities- we would like to introduce you to our newest photographer Terence Newman. Big thank you to our 2nd shooter Jamie for loaning him her camera while he worked

Groomsmen Having Fun- this groom was prepping for his big day cheerleader style

Dueling Pianos- the greatest entertainment we have seen at any wedding!

Mariachi Band- an excellent way to introduce the newlyweds while provide entertainment for your guests

Photo Booth- we of course had to include a little photo booth fun in the mix

Deja Vu- Meet Cameron he has single handedly attended at least 3 Jonathan Ivy Photography wedding in the last year or so. Huge Shout out to Cameron, our most loyal guest!

Traditions- now I can honestly say I have no idea what they were doing when they did this but I can say that my ear drums have been impacted for life

Commemorative Dances- I believe this dance seen here is called “Doing the Debbie”.  We don’t ask, we just shoot!

After Party Outfit- not only the bride needs an outfit change mid way through the reception

Family Hug- this is what it looks like when you are the only boy out of 6 kids

Runaway Groom- occasionally we run into a runaway such as seen here…and no this shot was not our idea, I’m just sayin’

So, I know we are so late!  This is ridiculous that we are just now getting around to finishing these but better late than never I say!  So little Emma had quite a day during this shoot.  She did not want to take photos that day nevertheless Jonathan and I continued to bribe and beg her and she cooperated for the most part.  We snagged a few cute ones and a few mad ones.  She did not like being naked and put inside a cold, wet pumpkin…can’t say that I really blame her. BUT she looked too darn cute in there!  I’m sharing a few of both the mad and content photos because I think they both are great!  Very accurate portrayal of her feelings that day!

These first few photos were taken in an alley downtown McKinney.

These last few photos we taken at the McKinney Cotton Mill right before a bridal shoot we did there.  Needless to say, the bridal shoot resulted in much happier photos than these.  But look at those little feetsies below.  They are so tiny and cute!  I just love them!!!

Happy Belated Halloween & Fall!

Hands down without a doubt bridal photos are Jonathan & my favorite thing to shoot!  Jon loves the ability to really create a one of a kind piece of art, he loves the use of lighting and the ability to take a girl on the happiest day of her life and capture this.  I on the other hand am a bit more superficial.  I love how seeing a bride in her wedding gown just makes you smile, I love playing with all the different styles of gowns, I love designing shoots around our girl’s personalities.  We strive to capture a variety of images at each session whether it be through multiple locations or use of unique props.  Here are just a few of favorite bridal portraits from 2011.

We then used these photos to decorate the groom’s cake area.  We love to embrace things that our couples love.  We also still take time to capture stunning images for the bride herself like that which can be seen below.  Isn’t this gorgeous!

Here is another example where the bride did an outfit change mid way through her bridal photo shoot.  We were able to capture her in both her wedding gown and her traditional saree.  Absolutely gorgeous!

I just adore how dramatic Mary’s bridal came out.  A girl full of life and personality, she worked it for the camera in her stunning Allure Couture gown.  We ran out to Las Colinas to take advantage of its European feel and many textures to capture her look.  A librarian from Chicago and passionate for books, we just had to incorporate this passion into her look.  Might I also add, she is a huge Jane Austen fan, a girl after my own heart.

Right before we shot the below photo, we saw a man spread roses in a pile beside one of the bridges so we watched him, sure enough we see a girl walk over the top of the bridge to stop and throw her hands to cover her mouth just as he dropped to one knee.  Yes, right before our very eyes he proposed and she said yes!  We cheered and of course, snapped some photos of them.  What a wonderful thing to see during a bridal shoot!

We are so excited that we finally got to take family photos…the not so exciting part, by the time we got ready to start shooting, Emma was exhausted and didn’t want to take photos.  So for those of you who know her, you know she had to be very tired because taking photos with daddy is one of her favorite things to do.  Example: Facebook  So despite this, Ben & Chrys with Ben Q Photography did a GREAT job of being VERY patient and still snagging some cute photos of our little family.

I absolutely LOVE the photos of these two!  Gosh they look so much alike.  My two favorite things in the entire world!!!

And I end this post with the most meaningful cake of all….Emma’s baby shower cake by Susie’s cakes!  This is not only the most delicious cake I have ever had, it is also the cutest! The belt & topper both designs from Jacqueline Chapelle.

I love so so so much the details of a wedding.  The details are where you can see the personality and passions of the bride, groom and their families.  Through the details you get to see their creative eye come to life!  Each of our weddings have so many adorable and fun filled wedding details that I could have posted 100′s of photos of each of them however I do not think that WordPress or Jonathan would appreciate this.  Therefore here are just a few that stand out to me.  Some are decor details and some are idea details.

Adkins Wedding: Here is a guest’s gift along with a seating chart.  Honey dippers tied to guest’s name and table.  Brilliantly cute!

Behm Wedding: Passionately Pink Wedding Shoes!  Being a fan of pink I absolutely adore these hot pink shoes!

Dublin Wedding: Incorporating a guest sign in and wall art to create a Thumb Print Tree

Hankins Wedding: A vintage loving bride using her creative eye to create a vintage detailed wedding using coke bottle and chalk boards.  Isn’t she adorable?!

Carle Wedding: Are you catching a theme yet?  We LOVE old cars!  They are such a great touch to a wedding!  Something to enjoy outside the norm and something we love to take photos of.

Cherian Wedding: bridesmaids all wearing different shoes.  Added bonus, the bride wore shoes that matched their dresses.  LOVE!
