We are pleased to introduced to you Mr & Mrs Travis McDavid.
This past weekend we had our first official Rockport wedding and it was so much fun. Despite the fact that is was nearly 100 degrees outside we kicked off the weekend with the rehearsal at the church and then dinner at the Boiling Pot (where Jon had his first BP experience, Yum!). We had a great night getting to know everyone.
We then start off the next day with the bride having a brunch with her girlfriends while they placed the final touched on the decorations. We then followed the groom out on his boat for a little fun. We then all headed in for a bite to eat and to join the ladies as they started on hair and makeup. From there our 2nd shooter for the first time, Karissa M. joined us (she did a fabulous job) and we started on the day’s big events. It was a beautiful wedding at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by a big back yard reception at the McDavid’s home. The whole wedding was absolutely beautiful. We wish the best of luck to Peggy & Travis as they start this new area of their lives together.

Well Jonathan Ivy Photography did its first quinceanera this past Sunday and we had a blast! We had the privilege of doing a shoot with one of Jon’s co-workers Roxanne’s niece, Tomasa. She was so cute the whole time striking poses and doing anything we thought of. She wore a beautiful white gown with green and yellow accents. Couldn’t have gone more perfect! We also did our first shoot in Arlington over at the new shopping center where they feature great water falls and a river. Thanks Tomasa for making the photo shoot so much fun.

This past Saturday Kymbo Nguyen & Curt Engel brought a little Louisiana to Texas while we did their engagement shoot at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Kymbo went to high school in Rockport with Samantha so it was alot of fun to meet up and do a photo shoot with them as they start this great new path in their lives. It was a hot day but a fun day laying in the grass and playing in the little houses and of course, the flowers were beautiful! We had alot of fun hanging with this awesome couple! They have been together for over 7 years now so their chemistry is undeniable. They also have one of the cutest kisses JIP has seen. Thanks Kymbo & Curt for coming and brightening our Saturday! We are looking forward to celebrating your big day!

A FAQ that we receive is, “What Should I Wear?” Below are a few suggestions to help you find that perfect outfit.
~ pass on the outfit containing alot of plaid or alot of stripes, these will make you look too busy
~ pass on the solid white button down shirts for the two of you
~ feel free to coordinate your look & colors with others in the photo but don’t try to match them
~ bring a mix of a casual, everyday and a dressy outfit, this will give you a nice variety
~ pass on the tube top ladies, you don’t want to end up with an ‘extra layer’ on top
~ dress for your location & theme (crop pants & heels with a button down & loose tie for a city theme; cowboys boots & pearl snaps for a western theme)
~ remember to wear things that ‘pop’: bright colored jewelry, fun colored shoes, crop jackets, loose tie, sunglasses, dress hats, etc
Another FAQ we receive is, “What do I need to bring?”
~ we LOVE props, so if you play an instrument, ride a bike or skateboard, have a favorite article of clothing or just a meaningful item, bring it with you. These personal items add an extra flair to your look.

Yesterday we had the privilege of doing an engagement shoot with one of Jon’s old college roommates and his fiancee’, Chase & Kristine. We started things off in Legacy taking advantage of the beautiful landscape and fountain out there and ended things in Frisco by Babe’s. The reason we picked Babe’s for the engagement location is because this is not only one of Chase’s favorite restaurants, it is where they will be having their rehearsal dinner as well. The rustic look of Babe’s and the local museum add a great flair to the photos. We also had one of the best sunsets JIP has seen yet. We had alot of fun with this couple and are looking forward to Kristine’s bridal shoot and their upcoming wedding.

Here is another example of our custom design, look at the couple then look at their shadow:

We love to do Logo and Custom work as can be seen below:

Beautiful sunset, not something JIP has had alot of luck catching but Chase & Kristine brought us one!

This is the final DVD cover. We incorporated the photo above in the album cover below. We love to custom create album covers for our clients
