Callie and Andy’s wedding day arrived with a whirlwind.  We photographed a wedding in Houston on Saturday which was beautiful then drove back to Dallas early Sunday to photography their wedding and it was perfect!  Gorgeous weather, a gorgeous couples and a perfect wedding, we could not have started the week on a better note. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Trophy Club Country Club and it could all be summed up in one word: Merry!  See their wedding took place just before Christmas so not only did Callie do a fabulous job of decorating, she beautifully incorporated Christmas elements throughout the day which was the perfect touch! After their precious first sight in the ceremony room we brought the everyone outside for some group photos in front of the golf course.  This military wedding was decorated with great flowers, Christmas themed accessories and some stunning uplighting provided by Glenn Roush (who did an amazing job by the way).  Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and dancing the night away with family and friends. Their beautiful sparkler exit has to be one of my favorites we have done. Thank you Callie and Andy for inviting us to be a part of your beautiful day!

We were so spoiled in Houston this weekend!  The lighting was nice, it was cool outside, we had a beautiful bride and a fun wedding taking place. We started photos at the fabulous Hotel Zaza then ran downtown to shoot their wedding at a beautiful cathedral then we headed over to the incredible Natural Museum of Science for their reception.  Our couple, who by the way was beyond welcoming and hospitable from the time we met them at their engagement photo shoot, met up with us and did all their photos before the ceremony so we were able to take photos of the two of them during daylight and at night which was alot of fun. We give you just a few of this fabulous couple’s photos.

This was our first wedding with a live mariachi band and it was great!  They were very good and everyone was up and dancing and having a blast.

One of the questions we receive the most is, “What Should I Wear?” Below are a few suggestions to help you achieve the perfect look for your photos.

• Bring at least two outfits: one casual, everyday outfit and one dressy outfit.

Casual… and dressy:

* Wear solid colors. Clothing with bold stripes and colorful prints are often distracting. Choose one solid hue that complements your eye color.

* Avoid showing a ton of skin. Shirt with sleeves are generally more flattering.

* Bring a black top. A simple, dark top allows the focus of an image to be the persons face. An added bonus of dark clothes is that they tend to be slimming.

Simple black dress for engagement shoot

* Wear classic styles to prevent the photograph from looking outdated. A little black dress for women and a solid-colored suit for men will never go out of style.

* Ladies, consider a v-neck top. Turtlenecks, thick scarves and sweaters can add bulk to your appearance. V-necks and open collars elongate the neck and body and bring the focus to your face.

* Guys, consider a collared shirt. A collared shirt frames the face and can be very flattering.

The perfect match. A solid v-neck for her, a collared shirt for him:

An off white shirt is better than a bright white shirt

 

* Always choose sleek, fitted clothes over baggy.

* Keep your makeup and hairstyle simple.

* Feel free to coordinate your look and wear complementary colors with others in the photo, but don’t try to match them. (Good examples: black shirts, or everyone in different shades of blue or purple.)

Coordinated, but not matching:

* Don’t wear an outfit containing plaid, bold stripes, colorful prints or writing/large graphics; these will make you look too busy and take away from the subject of the photo.

* Don’t go for solid white button down shirts for the two of you.

* Ladies should pass on tube top styles, to avoid ending up with an ‘extra layer’ on top.

* Ladies, don’t forget a manicure for an engagement shoot. There will always be a close-up shot of the ring on your hand.

* Don’t have your hair cut the day of a portrait. Schedule hair appointments at least a week in advance for a more natural look.

* Don’t neglect finding shoes to compliment your outfit. They will likely be seen in most of your photos.

We met up with Patrick and Sarah out at the Shops of Legacy for their engagement photos.  It was a cold day filled with fall colors and a light breeze.  We started off down by the pond with their adorable dog who was just eating up all the action around him.  We snapped a few photos with him before sending him on his way with grandpa while we played a bit more amidst the beautiful Christmas lights.  Both Sarah and Patrick are pretty quite but by the end of this photo shoot we had some laughter and a bit of PDA! We had so much fun on this engagement photo shoot with this amazing couple!  We met Kendra and Oscar through our favorite South Texas Wedding Planner Amy Canterbury. We met up with this cute couple at the Fulton Mansion in Rockport, TX where we took photos in front of this historical building then headed across the street to play by the water.  It was a clear day with great lighting, we love days like this.  From there we headed downtown Rockport to run around the old streets and take advantage of the brightly painted walls.  Kendra did an awesome job of picking out their outfits for this photo shoot! Oscar, being the artist he is, brought his guitar and serenaded us all.  After this photo shoot we are considering hiring him to come with us everywhere and strum on his guitar, it was so peaceful and really set up a great environment.   Here are just a few photos of the fabulous couple.

So I’m sure I am slightly bias but I am so excited to share with you my cousin Erika’s perfect senior photos!!!  We went out with Erika right after Thanksgiving along with our Aunt Darla to take some photos in honor of Erika graduating in 2011!  We played out in a field across the street from my aunt’s house then we headed over to her home away from home…the gym.  Erika is a magnificent volleyball and basketball player.  Not only does she have height on her side, she has the Williams family God given gift of athletics.  Here are just a few of her amazing photos!  We love you Erika!
