Vietnamese Tea Ceremony/Engagement Party- Nancy & Adam

Nancy and Adam introduced us to a first in our photography career, a Vietnamese Tea Ceremony which is the official engagement party uniting the couple as officially engaged. It is one of the most important ceremonies of the Vietnamese culture. The tradition behind this ceremony use to be where the parents would introduce the couple to each other to be married, hence their engagement becoming official at the ceremony. Today things are a bit different in how each couple meets but the meaning and revernce of the ceremony has not changed. The ceremony is held at the bride’s home and this is where we kick things off.

The dress above is the bride’s Áo dài worn in pink. Pink and red are the traditional colors. Isn’t it beautiful!

Before the wedding day, the groom’s family would make a trip to the bride’s home with a gift of betel nuts to officially ask permission to receive the bride. At this time, the bride’s family would confirm the wedding and the rest is history.

As you can see, these are happy and very fun ceremonies!

Beautiful Military Wedding- Mr & Mrs Daniel House

We kicked the year off for 2013 capturing this very romantic military wedding in Ft Worth, TX. The groom is in the Air Force, 2 of his groomsmen are in the Air Force and the remainder of his groomsmen in uniform are in the Army. We are so thankful for men like these to be serving our country and we are so proud to share this beautiful wedding with you all. We introduce to you Mr & Mrs Daniel House.

All the flowers were done by Gordon Boswell florist.

This girl loves and values her daddy, they made photos very easy as you can see above.

Engagement Photos in Discovery Green- Rachel & Michael

I think I would say that we shoot more engagement photos in Discovery Green than we do anywhere else however when you go back through each shoot, they are similar but not the same. The style the couple brings in along with Jonathan’s brillant ways creates a new and beautiful piece each time. Here is yet another example of this. Engagement photos in Discovery Green are here to stay!

We love tall grass! Golden tones and a romantic kiss…Swoon!

We love when our couples bring their fur babies along. We always have so much fun with them!

We have a few different skyline shots we take but we love this one because you can see the motion taking place. Houston traffic flying by this beautiful serene spot!

Woodlands Country Club Wedding- Mr & Mrs Jonathan Melcher

We are so excited to share with you all Mr & Mrs Jonathan & Lori Melcher’s beautiful north Houston wedding. The ceremony took place at Salem Lutheran Church with a reception following at The Woodlands Country Club- Palmer Course. However we started everything at Lori’s parent’s home where the girls were getting ready. Here are a few of our favorites from the day.

Love the girl’s custom robes! This is such a cute and practical idea!

This is Salem Luthern Church, a view from the outside and from the inside. Isn’t is beautiful!

The florals shown throughout the wedding were created by Dream Bouquet.

The Woodland’s Country Club- Palmer’s Course is a beautiful area for a reception!

The above image is why we encourage you to print before the reception. The bride and groom was able to have all these gorgeous prints on display for their reception and then they were able to immediately take them home to place in their new house together! Every guest LOVED looking at the photos too! They also had us create a guest sign in book, another item that was a huge hit for the guests! Not only is the book stunning, each guest is able to write more than just their names, but a whole note to the couple. This is something that can be enjoyed for a lifetime! Having this book professionally created ensures quality in the prints and paper (no smears or torn paper). I just LOVE their Engagement Sign in Book!
